Cultivating a strong corporate culture has been a key driver of TJX’s success. The values that the TJX culture embraces for our associates are openness, cooperation and diversity. We also place a great deal of emphasis on internal training and developing people within the TJX family. In addition, our culture fosters excellent relationships with our vendors.

A prime example of how our culture has benefited the Company is the integration of the Marshalls and T.J. Maxx organizations. From the outset, these two major divisions joined forces and cooperated with each other to emerge as the most unified and talented organization in off-price retailing today.

We believe that our culture, which fosters sharing of information and expertise, has had a significant and positive business impact. Each time that we embark in a new business venture, we lever our knowledge in the various disciplines of our concept, including merchandising, inventory management, store operations, administration, systems and distribution. Individuals have moved, sometimes on a permanent, sometimes on a temporary basis, to Winners, T.K. Maxx, HomeGoods and A.J. Wright, to establish a strong foundation upon which these divisions can grow.
