Pledging our Support:

In late 2010, TJX announced its major multi-year pledge and global partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

On a Mission:

The TJX Foundation’s primary mission is to contribute to programs that provide basic-need services to disadvantaged women, children and families in communities in which we do business. In 2010, The Foundation funded over 1,300 organizations.

Involving More People:

We have made a concentrated effort over the past three years to invite Associates in our stores, offices and distribution centers to recommend organizations in their communities to receive charitable grants.

Getting on Board:

Our Associates volunteer their time and talent in a number of meaningful ways, including fundraising, mentoring and lending their leadership as directors on nonprofit boards.

Do you welcome phone calls from nonprofit organizations seeking advice as to a particular program for which they should apply for funding?
We fully recognize and understand that writing requests for funding is a time-consuming effort and we want to make applying for funding from The TJX Foundation as easy as possible. Please review our Giving Guidelines carefully; if you have further questions as to the compatibility of your organization with our Mission Statement and Giving Guidelines criteria, or need some guidance as to which program for which you should apply for funding, you may call us at 508-390-3199.

Do you have a typical grant award range?
The TJX Foundation does not have a typical grant award range, but one of our goals is to support as many nonprofit organizations as possible within a fiscal year.

What is your annual funding cycle? And what are the deadlines for submitting proposals?
We hold three allocation meetings per fiscal year; our current fiscal year started on January 30, 2011 and will end on January 28, 2012. Our deadlines require that your completed proposal be received by The TJX Foundation 12 weeks prior to a meeting. This year’s deadlines and meetings are scheduled to take place during the following weeks and are provided below for your general planning purposes only:

Once I submit my grant proposal, how quickly will I learn if it’s been approved?
It is our goal to notify you by mail approximately four weeks after a meeting with regard to an award decision. While one of our goals is to support as many worthy nonprofit organizations as possible, we cannot guarantee that all applications will receive funding.

Approximately how many nonprofit organizations did you support last year?
The TJX Foundation and TJX are very proud that we supported over 2,000 different nonprofit organizations in 2010.
