Key Guidelines for Associates

The TJX Companies, Inc. is built on a foundation of guiding principles: Value, Customer Service and Associate Relations. These principles continue to play a crucial role in helping us maintain our position of leadership in the off-price industry.

TJX provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants and Associates in all aspects of employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity and expression, marital status, military status, political beliefs or any other legally protected status. We provide reasonable accommodations for all qualified individuals with disabilities.

TJX created a Code of Conduct in 1998 to provide Associates at all levels with the Company’s basic policies, practices and procedures. Our Code of Conduct is reviewed annually and Associates are asked to sign that they have received and understand the Code on an annual basis; interim Code policy changes are communicated on a timely basis.

Adhering to these guidelines helps TJX maintain compliance with the law and ensures that we are conducting all Company business fairly, honestly and ethically. At TJX, we rely on every Associate to make the right decisions. Managers and Supervisors are expected to lead by example, to foster an environment that promotes integrity and compliance and to ensure that other Associates understand and follow the Code of Conduct.

Our Associate Code of Conduct, as well as Our Code of Ethics for TJX Executives, are contained in the materials that follow.
