Being a good corporate citizen and giving back to the communities in which we do business has always been part of our culture at TJX. One of the many ways we live this philosophy is through our corporate volunteer programs, which create a direct bridge between our Associates and charitable organizations that support our charitable mission: to deliver great value to our communities by helping vulnerable families and children access the resources and opportunities they need to build a better future.
Our Associates can pick from one-day volunteering events or longer-term opportunities. Either way, their efforts create real impact in our communities and foster philanthropic connections that encourage our Associates to get – and stay – inspired...and professionally engaged.
Below are just a few examples of recent Associate volunteer projects:
- A team of U.S. Associates from our global headquarters in Massachusetts helped move a family out of a shelter to a home with Heading Homes “Up & Out Move” program. Associates cleaned the apartment and shopped at local stores, including T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods, to purchase décor and food for the family. Once each room in the home was personalized, the family was welcomed home!
- A team of Buyers volunteer monthly at Choice Pantry in New York City where they help provide low income families with free nutritious groceries by packing fresh produce, taking grocery orders on tablets, and distributing grocery packages.
